3D Laser Scanning — Canberra
Architects excel at designing houses, not measuring them. RZ Scan's 3D laser scan takes the measuring, and the return trips, off your team's shoulders.
One site visit: every wall, every junction, every departure from square — the details that matter when you're designing around what already exists — captured with laser precision, freeing up your time for the work you enjoy doing.
What we deliver is more than plans and sections; it's a complete 3D reality capture you can confidently return to through design, documentation, and construction.
Two people. Two to three hours on site. Then more time at the desk resolving dimensions that don’t quite agree — before a single design decision has been made. The cost of that shows up later: in the fee, in the programme, or in what gets missed on site.
Fast, clean, and BIM-ready.
The Leica BLK360 is the industry-standard scanner for architectural as-built capture. In one site visit, it captures a complete spherical scan of the building — every room, wall, ceiling and floor junction, and external façade — to ±6mm accuracy. Multiple scan positions are registered together into a single, unified point cloud of the entire site: a millimetre-accurate 3D record you can walk through, measure, and reference at any stage of a project.
Delivered ready to work withThe point cloud is delivered as .RCP and .E57 files — open, industry-standard formats that load straight into Revit or ArchiCAD. No conversion, no cleanup. Cut plans at any height or sections at any angle, and trace directly over the point cloud to build an accurate BIM model — all in 3D, from the same file you started with.
Panorama imagery on KuulaFor heritage recordings or any project where a walkthrough adds value, the BLK360's panoramic imagery can be hosted as an interactive virtual tour on Kuula — a shareable way to walk clients through existing conditions remotely, or as reference for heritage report.
RZ Scan is not a generic scanning operator. The business is founded and run by an Architectural Technologist with extensive building design experience — someone who's felt the frustration of on-site measure, understands what a point cloud needs to deliver, how architects use it, and where the critical details are in a renovation.
A point cloud is only as useful as the person who captures it. An operator who doesn’t understand buildings will miss the wall junction that matters, skip the ceiling step that changes everything, or fail to scan the roofline detail the heritage planner will ask about.
When RZ Scan attends your site, the person holding the scanner knows what your drawings need to show. Coverage decisions are made with your design process in mind — not just the equipment’s capabilities.
That’s the difference between data and useful data.
Our baseline site capture starts at $1,500 (with typical residential A&A projects landing between $1,800 and $3,000).
Send us your project details and we’ll respond with a fixed price within 24 hours. No obligations, no site visit required to quote.
